Reading in June – Day 17

Day 17

Started Today On: Page 182

Ended On: Page 220

Pages Read Today: 38

We’re back on track. I remembered to bring my book with me today, and I managed to read during my commute to and from work. My days are starting to blur. I also had a break in between where I dove back into a beautiful discovery. I truly invite everyone to read Marina Kemp’s work. There is surprisingly little discussion of The Unwilding on Instagram or TikTok, and it truly deserves to be part of the conversation.

Kemp’s clear-cut prose and diligent style lure you in with precision. Every word sits on the page with intention, and through Kemp’s careful observation, life and everything in it become fascinating. Every detail, significant and carefully chosen, brings you closer to a family moving through life as it navigates the losses brought by time.

180 pages. Two busy days and a weekend. I still think I can fit two more books in this month before my holiday. Happy Wednesday!
