Reading in June – Day 10

Day 10

At least we know my average page count on a busy working day now. It’s Day 10 of the Reading in June series and I have 70 pages left. Realistically, I could finish the book in an afternoon, but my lessons have been ending past 20:00, and I know I’ll choose spending time with loved ones after a long day.

When I have two hours between walking through my front door and falling asleep, half an hour of reading can’t be rationalised when work tasks, dinner, and a shower need to be prioritised. And yet, if I hadn’t read before getting home, I would probably sacrifice my sleep.

I’m reading, though.

Because of this series, I have read every day despite circumstances that would have previously convinced me there wasn’t enough time. Today, I read during my commute and then again six hours later during my break at work.

Some of you commented that I’d be finishing the book by Friday or this weekend, and I think you may be right. I can’t see myself finishing it tomorrow, but I also think twelve days might be too long to spend on a single book, especially with the TBR I have planned.

Today’s highlight:

“Fitzgerald said that the sign of genius is being able to hold two contradictory ideas in your head at the same time. But what if you hold two contradictory fears? Are you still some kind of a genius?”

Thank you for following my reading experience, and see you in the comments!

Hello. Thank you for coming by Experience Writing. Reading some of your June posts made me think that you might enjoy the Reading like a Writer, and Reading Novels like a Novelist posts that I wrote in early 2023. You can search for either of those titles, or just go to January 2023 and scroll through. I’m enjoying re-reading them since you inspired me to look for them. Happy Reading!
