Today was another long and beautiful day. I read on my morning commute, at work before I was really supposed to start, and on my way home. The result of 30 minutes of total reading time (I won’t count the obvious distractions) is 27 pages.

The day officially ended at 20:30, and I don’t want to ruin tomorrow, so I’ll be off to bed shortly after I post today’s update.

The book is now entirely centered around writing. These have been my favourite chapters so far, and I wish I had read them on a free afternoon. Better yet, I wish I could have read them in one sitting.

I’m drawn in every time I pick up my Kindle, despite the breaks in between and the constant need to remain semi-alert because of the places I’ve chosen to read. King’s ability to pace every dialogue through the narrator makes Writers & Lovers one of the best books I’ve read this year.

Even if I read three pages between three subway stops and another two on the way up the escalator, I still haven’t fully left the scene in between.

Today’s chapters touched on rejection, success, and the crisis that both extremes can evoke. My intention is never to spoil the book, and I intend to save most of my thoughts for a thorough review or literary essay. However, I do love highlighting notable passages. Here are today’s:
