Day 8
Started on: Page 161
Finished on: Page 202
Pages read: 41
Week 2 starts today and, for a busy day, I’m not disappointed in the time I made for reading. Today, I read 41 pages. Most importantly, I enjoyed every bit of it. And I’m past the 200-page mark.
I had a 12-hour workday today, and my closest friend called as I stepped off the bus at my final stop of the day. It sounded important.
We always start off as adult women, catching up over work and life. We always separate them.
And then we’re 16 years old again.
Every embarrassing moment we’ve lived through since our last call comes up. Even in our separate lives, we’re always keeping the other in mind, knowing we’ll laugh about it together later.
The serious approach to life loses credibility, and we catch our breaths.
We have known each other for 20 years. That and “where did the time go?” always go hand in hand. We got off the phone at 21:10, and I ran out of time to call my brother. Or read. I’m so glad I read before work.
Moving forward, I really want to spend at least two hours with Writers & Lovers soon. I’d like to make a dent in the book, but I need to enjoy it without frequent breaks in between. I’m 130 pages away, and I still think I could finish it soon, despite it being my busiest week!
When do you honestly think I’ll finish the book?
