Our official pick for August is The Shampoo Effect by Jenny Jackson. Set in Massachusetts, we are exchanging last month’s lake setting for a coastal town. Perfect for the last full month of Summer.
We’re jumping from one dynamic friend group to another. This time, we’ll be following a tight-knit community with a love affair ending in a similar conflict that unravelled with The Lake Club by Lina Patton.
Before we open up a brand new book, however, we will be discussing July’s read with Patton over on Fable. It’s never too late to join, and if anyone reading this has already devoured her book, as opposed to the Book Club (who read it a chapter a day), I’m sure there are questions left to be answered. Not due to a lack of clarity, but the writing process itself. Lina Patton is currently writing her second novel, and I can’t wait to discover more about her writing habits, routine and everything that goes on behind the scenes.
