Reading in June – Day 12

Day 12

Started on: Page 272
Finished on: Page 301
Pages read: 29

I’ve passed the 300-page mark! I shouldn’t be too proud of that, as I’m sure many of you expected me to have finished the book by now.

Today I read between obligations again. A few pages before work, a few more on the commute home, and the final stretch before bed. I have 19 pages left, and I honestly need to go to sleep.

That’s the reality of this week, and I’m happy to document it. Today, I found myself wondering why I hadn’t just waited until July to start this series. I have over 15 days of train travel planned across Scandinavia, Central Europe, and Southern Europe, and plenty of time to dive into summer favourites. Why didn’t I wait to document that?

I am, however, grateful to have captured a completely different side of the reading experience. If I were to track another month, I’d love to compare the stark difference between a busy working month and what will likely be the last summer in a long time that I’ll have this much free time. The contrast between squeezing in 14 minutes on the subway and spending hundreds of hours on scenic train rides across Northern Europe, with day-long stops at Mediterranean beaches, would be fascinating.

Let me know if you’d be interested in reading another series in July, or if one was enough for a season. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Nineteen pages left. I’ll finish this book tomorrow.
