Choose the Book of the Month!

By

I hope that January introduced you to new genres and that you discovered favorites that once lay on a TBR pile of shame. Some of mine did, and I will admit that our Book Club on Fable helped.

Having a group of wonderful people accompany my reading experience, particularly with a book as heavy as Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking, pushed me to make time for more than just reading. Catching up on messages during my commute home helped ensure I would carve out space that evening to “just read some more,” and that is exactly what I did.

With February right around the corner, it’s finally time to choose our next read. Please leave your book suggestions below. Once we have enough titles to choose from, an official poll will go up.

Hi! Honestly, if you haven’t read Fear of Flying yet from last month’s list, i suggest that one. I also have a phobia of flying, and would kind of love to read it with other people who could read it the same way that I would

Hi Sarah💙 I actually have not gotten to it, so I’ll add it to February’s list (with a slight bit of shame)

Oh A Year of Magical Thinking was an amazing read, I would love to throw that at my book club, maybe next year. Our group is reading The Great Gatsby right now. But I’m building our list for next year and I’m considering A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

Where do you host your Book Club? I would love to join💙 And yes, it truly is an amazing, impactful read. Was the Great Gatsby a re-read for you?

We have been meeting at a local pub for the past few years. I started it because I wanted to discuss The Brothers Karamazov with others, it took us 12 months to get through that read, meeting every month. We just kinda kept going. I write little blog posts about my experience, we don’t really have an online presence.
